Track inventory
Genstore offers an inventory tracking feature that helps merchants monitor stock changes in real time, reducing overstocking and stockouts. It also minimizes the need for manual adjustments. For businesses operating across multiple locations, inventory tracking ensures that stock data is synchronized and updated in real time, improving inventory management efficiency and overall operations.
Once enabled, inventory tracking allows you to view up to 90 days of inventory adjustment history. This helps analyze inventory trends and make informed decisions.
Enable inventory tracking
Single SKU
- Log in to your Genstore admin, and go to the Products page.
- In the product list, click the product name you want to track, or select Edit from the Action column.
- On the product details page, go to the Inventory section:
- Check Track inventory.
- Enter the current stock quantity in the Available field.
- If you want customers to continue purchasing after the product is sold out, check Continue selling when out of stock.
- Inventory quantities are managed at the location level, which means each storage location has its own stock count.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
Multiple SKUs
- Log in to your Genstore admin, and go to the Products page.
- In the product list, click the product name you want to track, or select Edit from the Action column.
- On the product details page, expand the Variants section:
- You can check Track and edit the Available field directly for each SKU one by one.
- Or, select multiple SKUs using the checkboxes, then click Edit inventory. In the popup:
- Check Track inventory.
- Enter the available stock quantity.
- Click Confirm to apply the changes to all selected SKUs.
- To allow selling after stock runs out, select the SKUs, click ..., and choose Continue selling when out of stock.
- Each SKU’s inventory is tracked separately at the location level.
