Market
In Genstore, the Markets feature is your central hub for managing cross-border sales. By creating markets for different countries or regions, you can deliver a localized shopping experience with customized language, currency, pricing, shipping, taxes, and more. This approach helps boost conversion rates, streamline operations, and grow your brand’s global presence.
On the Markets page, you can:
- View the status of active and inactive markets
- Quickly see each market’s performance (sales, conversion rate, order share, etc.)
- Add, activate, or deactivate markets
- Access detailed settings for each market to configure language, pricing, taxes, shipping, and more
Key concepts
- Primary market: The default market of the store. It is automatically set when the store is created and determines global settings such as default language, currency, shipping, and taxes. The primary market cannot be deleted, but it can be changed.
- Non-primary markets: All markets other than the primary market. They support multi-region, multi-language, and multi-currency sales strategies. Each non-primary market can have its own localized settings for language, pricing, shipping, domain, and more.
- Active markets: Markets that have completed the required configurations (such as language, domain, shipping, and pricing) and are in an “available” state. Customers can access these markets and place orders. Active markets are included in operational data such as conversion rate and sales performance.
- Inactive markets: Markets that have been created but not yet enabled. Once activated, customers can access them and place orders.
- Countries/regions not included in any market: These countries or regions are not yet assigned to any market, and the system will not display localized content for these customers. You can cover them by adding a new market or editing an existing one.
