How to install
Genstore Translate installs automatically when you add a new language to your store.
If you've already added a language and want to install it manually, go to Settings -> Languages and click Install Genstore Translate.
How to manually translate content
You can manually translate your content within the app or directly from the content pages in your store admin.
Steps:
- In your Genstore admin, go to Apps or Settings -> Languages.
- Click Genstore Translate.
- Select the language you want to translate.
- Choose the content you want to translate.
- Enter your translation into the corresponding fields.
- Click Save.
How to automatically translate content
Use Genstore Translate app to automatically generate translations. We recommend reviewing auto-translated content before publishing.
Auto-translate all content in a language
You need to activate auto-translation separately for each language. Translated content usually appears on the storefront within a few minutes.
Steps:
- In your Genstore admin, go to Apps or Settings -> Languages.
- Click Genstore Translate.
- Select the language.
- Click Auto-translate.
- If the selected language already has translations, choose:
- Translate only empty fields — fill in untranslated fields only.
- Overwrite translations for all fields — regenerate translations for all fields.
- Click Confirm.
- If the selected language already has translations, choose:
- Once the translation is complete, a notification email will be sent to your account email address.
TIP
- When new content is added (e.g., a new product), go back to the app and click Auto translate to generate translations for the new content.
- When existing content is updated (e.g., a product description):
- If translations already exist, you can manually edit them, choose Overwrite translations for all fields, or clear the previous translations and then run Translate only empty fields.
- If the content is new or was not translated before, simply click Auto Translate and select Translate only empty fields.
Auto-translate a specific item
You can also auto-translate individual items such as products or blog posts.
Steps:
- In your Genstore admin, go to Apps or Settings -> Languages
- Click Genstore Translate
- Select the item
- Click Auto-translate.
- If the selected language already has translations, choose:
- Translate only empty fields — fill in untranslated fields only.
- Overwrite translations for all fields — regenerate translations for all fields.
- Click Confirm.
- If the selected language already has translations, choose:
- Click Save
TIP
- For content with images or videos, you can choose different versions for each language.
- URL handles are not automatically translated—you’ll need to edit them manually for each language.
